The Book:
It is a romance novel from the point of view of main character Skylar van der Meeren. What separated this book from others is that it is not just for girls/women but also for men, because the story plays out during a tour of a heavy metal band. Although the band for whom my husband was the tour manager does not exist anymore, the people in it as well as their past experiences have served as inspiration for this book. The tour manager, Connor, however, is not at all anything like my husband...haha. I can assure you that all the characters are purely fictional.
The story:
Skylar van der Meeren is a column writer, at Rogue publishing, who dreams about becoming a feature writer. Her editor-in-chief seems to hate the world and everyone in it so her goal seems desperately unreachable. Then the owner of the company unexpectedly decides to give her the opportunity of a lifetime. She is chosen to write a feature about being on tour with a well-known heavy metal-band. Skylar is a homebound type with no experience in the music industry and she will be only woman in the group. All of which makes dealing with the less than friendly tour manager become a struggle beyond her wildest dreams.
